Ascent was the second vaporizer released by DaVinci. This is a portable vaporizer with a sleek design. It can be used to vape either dry herb, concentrate or oils. Although this device has been on the market for up to five years already, it is still highly-rated. This is a simple device that is easy to operate, but it comes with an advanced feature like the vape temperature cycle that gives you control over your vaping experience. This is a perfect device to use on-the-go. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced vaper, this is an excellent vaporizer. Its versatility puts it way above other portable vaping devices on the market. If you are looking for the best dab pen that can also be used to vape dry herb, look no further.

Appearance

The Ascent portable vaporizer by DaVinci has a discreet design. It looks like a large car alarm remote. The device is about the same size as the iPhone 5. The dimensions of this vaporizer are 2.24 inches by 4.47 inches by 1.03 inches. It weighs about 192 grams. It has more weight than other portable vaping devices like the PAX, but it is not too heavy that you cannot use it. The ergonomic design of the Ascent makes it a delight to vape with. You can choose from different finishes for this device including faux wood, carbon fiber, black skulls, crocodile skin, and stealth. DaVinci even gives you the option of customizing your vaping device for only $50 more.

The Ascent has a retractable glass mouthpiece. You can pull out the glass straw to give the vapor a longer distance to travel before it reaches your mouth.

Heating Chamber

The heating chamber of the DaVinci Ascent is located at the lower section of the device. To access the heating chamber, you simply need to twist the bottom section of this vaporizer. The heating chamber of the Ascent is made of ceramic and lined with glass. Also, the vapor pathway of this device is made of glass. This ensures that you will get smooth and clean hits from this vaporizer. One of the main complaints about the Ascent is that the heating chamber is too large. If you fill it up with dry herb, you may not be able to finish vaping it in one session.

The Ascent comes with two glass jars that you can use to vape oils or concentrate. You simply need to load up your coil or concentrate in the glass jar and fit it inside the heating chamber. Do not fill up the glass jar completely with oil or concentrate. DaVinci recommends leaving the glass jar partly empty.

When you take a puff on the Ascent vaporizer, air enters the device from holes at the bottom of the heating chamber and travel up to your mouthpiece through the glass pipe. The heating chamber and the grills at the bottom of the device can get hot when you are vaping so be careful.

Temperature Settings

The DaVinci Ascent has precision temperature control. There is a small OLED screen on the front of the device that displays its temperature and battery level. There is a ‘+’ and ‘-‘ button next to the display that you can use to change the temperature. You can set the temperature anywhere from 0 to 221 degrees Celsius. The temperature can be displayed either in Fahrenheit or Celsius. The heating time of this device is just 60 seconds. An image of a bowl will appear on the screen after the preheating is complete.

In addition to normal temperature control, the Ascent also has a temperature vape cycle feature. How this works is that you select three different temperature levels for the device to run through over a period of 10 minutes. You need to press the settings button to activate the temperature cycle and the timer.

Battery Power

The battery life of the Ascent vaporizer is impressive. The battery could last you 3 to 4 hours depending on how frequently you are using the device. The charging time of this DaVinci vaporizer is 3 hours. It supports pass-through so you can vape while it is charging.

Price

The DaVinci Ascent is selling for about $200 at most vape shops, but you can get it on Ejuice Pack for only $189.99.
